Wellspring Financial Advisors Announces Formation of Investment Committee
Three industry experts to provide a diverse set of perspectives and help guide the firm’s disciplined investment approach
Wellspring Financial Advisors (Wellspring), a registered investment adviser and multi-family office catering to ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families, is excited to announce the creation of its investment committee to support the firm’s investment philosophy and processes and reinforce its disciplined approach to investing. The committee is comprised of three experienced professionals who have each served in senior-level investment roles.
Wellspring’s investment committee members include:
Larry Babin
- Larry recently retired as a Managing Director at Victory Capital Management and Chief Investment Officer of the Victory Diversified Equity Fund, a large cap equity mutual fund and institutional portfolio with over $12 billion at its peak. He managed this portfolio for over 25 years and won numerous awards, including Lipper Mutual Fund Manager of the Year. Larry is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and earned his MBA from the University of Michigan. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation. Currently, Larry serves on the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s Finance & Investment and Endowment Fund Committees.
Chris Jones
- Chris is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Align Capital Partners (ACP). He sits on ACP’s investment committee and is actively involved in all aspects of the firm’s strategic and investment objectives. Over the past 20 years of his private equity career, Chris has completed more than 55 private equity transactions totaling over $3 billion of value. Prior to founding ACP, Chris was a Partner at The Riverside Company where he led five platform company investments and was a leader of the firm’s Business Services specialization. Chris has also previously worked for Keystone Capital, National City Corporation’s Investment Group, and Ernst & Young (EY). He earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance and Accounting from the University of Dayton and his MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
Jon McCloskey
- Jon is a Vice President and Chief Investment Officer at Parkwood, a Cleveland-based private trust company. He is responsible for leading the investment activities of Parkwood, overseeing a team of analysts who are responsible for sourcing, monitoring, and evaluating the firm’s external managers and internally managed strategies. Before joining Parkwood, Jon spent eight years at Avalon Capital Group, a west coast family office, where he directed all investment activities. He has also worked in investment banking roles at First Albany Corporation and Merrill Lynch in New York. Jon earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics from Pennsylvania State University and his MBA in Finance from Yale University.

The investment committee was established on August 11, 2022 and will meet quarterly with Rich Turgeon and Michael Novak, President & CEO at Wellspring, to review Wellspring’s investment strategy and objectives.
